Carlos Galán

Carlos Galán Lago begins his musical studies at the “Julián Orbón” Conservatory under the professor Ana Serrano, in Avilés. Carlos graduates with honors from the “Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid” under the instruction of Ana Guijarro. Between 2005 and 2008, he attends “L’Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot de Paris” where he obtains the “Diplome d’execution”, under the instruction of Ramzi Yassa. He also studies at the “Conservatoire Regional De Saint-Maur”, in Paris, with Romano Pallottini.



In addition, Carlos complements his studies with Piano Masterclasses in Sapin and France, with professors such as Tsiala Kvernadze, Carlos Cebro, Deirdre O’Donohue, Ramón Coll, Almudena Cano, Ana Guijarro, Ludovica Mosca and Jorge Rissi.



He was honored with the first prize in the “Vila de Salou” Competition, “Ciudad de San Sebastián” Competition, “Brest” Competition (France), and “Rotary Sardinero”. In 2000, he was honored by the Avilés Rotary Club with the award “Protagonistas del Mañana”. He has also been sponsored by Cajastur, Ibercaja and the Madrid Community Education Ministry.



As a piano soloist, Carlos has appeared with “Julián Orbón” Young Orchestra of Avilés and Allegro Orchestra of Paris. He has also recorded for Radio France as well as performed in several countries, including Spain, France and Norway. In 2006, sponsored by “Jeneusse Musicales”, he tours around the Balearic Islands along with Joaquín Riquelme, Berliner Philharmonic violist.

Since 2008, he is a piano professor at Madrid Community of Music and Scenic Arts Association. He regularly conducts piano and chamber music masterclasses, and performs actively with Trio Malats.
